Abigail Petty

I am a qualified primary teacher currently completing my QTS, with a strong focus on helping children build confidence, independence and positive learning habits. With a degree in Primary Education and experience across a range of educational settings, I have supported learners of different ages, abilities and needs.


I have worked as a Learning Mentor supporting adults with SEND, which strengthened my understanding of personalised support and the importance of emotional wellbeing in learning. My experience as a Cover Supervisor further developed my classroom management skills, adaptability and confidence in leading whole-class learning.


I specialise in core primary subjects, particularly reading, writing and mathematics, and understand the academic and emotional challenges pupils may face.


My sessions are tailored to each child, identifying gaps in understanding and building knowledge step by step. I create a calm, supportive environment where children feel confident to ask questions, develop resilience and take pride in their progress, while maintaining clear communication with parents.
