Elizabeth Napodano

My name is Elizabeth Napodano and I love all things creative and artsy. I want to tutor because I believe a great and passionate teacher can bring out the best in students and push them above and beyond their potential. I had an extremely passionate English teacher when I was in secondary school and they really inspired and developed my love for English Literature because of their passion for it. I only hope I can do the same for other students who need some support. I got a 9 in English Literature and an 8 in English Language at GCSE.

I provide support in English Literature and Language at GCSE level for the AQA Specification. I provide support by using past exam answers and helping students to acknowledge what is good and what needs improving. I teach them to know what examiners want from them in the exam by reading mark schemes.

I encourage students to do real past exam questions to help them get used to the writing style that GCSE demands and later on how to do it comfortably in timed conditions. I use my past work and books from my GCSEs which I undertook in 2023 to provide analysis examples and writing examples to help students understand further what is required of them.

The typical length of a lesson would be 60 minutes, however I am happy to do 90 and 120 minute lessons if the student desires it. These lessons are for GCSE students ranging from Years 9-11. I have one year experience as a tutor where I took a student from a predicted 5 in English Literature GCSE to a 7. I took the same student from a 6 to an 8 in English Language GCSE. I have also undertaken an A-Level in English Literature.
