Kinny Morrissey

I am an experienced primary teacher who now works as a skills coach, supporting children to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits. I have taught across the primary age range, with particular experience in Years 5 and 6, preparing pupils for SATs. I have worked with children with a wide range of needs and abilities and understand the academic and emotional challenges this stage of learning can bring.

My tutoring sessions are carefully tailored to each child. I take time to understand how they learn best, identify gaps in understanding, and build learning step by step in a clear, supportive way. I specialise in core primary subjects, including reading, writing and maths, and use a mixture of practical activities, discussion and interactive tasks to keep lessons engaging and enjoyable.

I aim to create a calm, encouraging learning environment where children feel confident to ask questions and learn from mistakes. I place great importance on working closely with parents and carers, ensuring communication is clear and supportive. My goal is to help children build secure foundations in their learning, grow in confidence, and feel proud of the progress they make.
